Olga is a young
female from a distance racing kennel that can be
described in one word—“spicy.” Those big
Doberman-looking ears are always listening. When
I see her eyes perk up, I know that I need to be
on alert because there’s something ahead (a moose,
wolf, or maybe another dog team) that I can’t see
yet. She’s very smart, learns fast, and runs fast
but she has an edge—she doesn’t like to stop on
the trail and snaps at the dog next to her
whenever she has to wait. On free runs in our
exercise pen, Olga gets along best with the guys,
however, she is making new friends with some of
the other females like Solomon who is a very
gentle soul. Olga has tremendous potential as a
leader if we can teach her to respect and trust
her teammates. |
