Hoonah is our Siberian in the kennel. He is named after a village in southeast Alaska that made a lasting impression on me about Alaska's diverse cultural history. Hoonah is an "alpha" male who sees himself as top dog in the kennel. We have had to work intensively with Hoonah's " attitude " but he has still managed to bite the ears of some his kennel mates when our heads were turned! There's no shortage of stories about Hoonah. Through lots of trials and tribulations, Hoonah has learned to get along with his teammates. He loves people and sleeping on the bed at night. Hoonah runs in the middle of the team and spends lots of time as my skijor dog exploring trail conditions. |
