Alaska is from Hans Gatt's professional racing kennel in Atlin, British Columbia. Alaska comes from a hound breeding---her father's name is Duck and she looks more like a hunting dog than a sled dog! Alaska was bred for mid-distance stage races. She has shorter hair with no undercoat so she wears a dog coat when it gets really cold. Alaska is fast, enthusiastic, and very, very smart. As is typical with some of the hound breeds, Alaska is maturing a bit later than her Alaska Husky kennel mates. At age 4, she is just starting to run in lead and shows tremendous potential. |
